2023 NATIONAL GRAMMAR SCHOOL PRIZE GIVING & SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS


The Executive Chairman of PPSMB Enugu, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hilary Mgbodile conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to National Grammer School Nike, Old Boys of 1991 set, Principal, teachers, and parents for their support and collective efforts towards the development of the young talented students and the school.

Dr. Hilary Mgbodile conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to National Grammer School Nike, Old Boys of 1991 set, Principal, teachers, and parents for their support and collective efforts towards the development of the young talented students and the school.
 
Fr. Mgbodile, who was represented at the ceremony by the Director of Education Services, Dr. Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nwankwo, urged the male students to look up to the old boys as their mentors because it is a privilege to have them around. In her words, "Always remember that they were once like you and they are here to encourage you to be a better person".
 
Also speaking during the occasion, the Principal of the school and also an awardee in that category of three best-passed science subjects in SSCE, Mr. Emeka Enebe, appreciated the Old Boys of 1991 set for the innovations. He said that it is a thing of Joy to the entire school and most especially those students whose lives were touched. The Principal also gave an insight into how the winners emerged. He stated that the teacher's category was selected by the students, while the students were picked based on the records.
 
He promised to give the old boys every assistance for the development of the school.
The prize-giving/ scholarship award ceremony furthered the career talk on substance abuse and its consequences by Pharm ( Dr.) Egbuna Uduorah, while Ugochukwu Rex Mafiana, an IT specialist, spoke on the future careers of the students. Also, Grahams Emeka Agbowo, a gubernatorial candidate during the last election, talked extensively on focus, trust, capacity, and integrity, including the magic grains that grind off the rough path for one to be a celebrity.
Then, Mr. Alom Akachukwu and Goodluck Edeh discussed extensively about WAEC & Jamb preparation guide and No Excuse respectively.
 
The award presentation came in different categories, ranging from Full University Scholarships for the three Best students in SSCE, the Best ten students in Junior WAEC, the six most dedicated teachers, and the best Students in different subjects. Also, the most dedicated form teacher award came from the Principal of Trans Ekulu Girls Secondary School, Mrs. Ijeoma Okpe. There was also an individual award from the Old Boys to the students and teachers that performed greatly in different areas.
 
The event featured a cultural display by the students of the school, a presentation of a poem by UHUO Timothy on Rulers of Nowadays, a hip-hop song written by a student, and a display of Art
Work done by students of the school.
Dignitaries that graced the occasion were the Principals of TEGSS & UCHS, Mrs. Ijeoma Okpa, and Mr. Philp Aneke, respectively. Also on that occasion were, Dr. Mrs. Tessy Ani, the State Coordinator G & C,
