One of these methods is the initiation and implementation of prep classes during school hours.

Schools' prep time usually held on Thursdays for a period of one hour which is targeted at helping the students improve their reading and comprehension abilities from various study materials as well as expand their vocabularies, study and test taking skill set.

It is evident that, students of Urban Girls Secondary School, Ugwuleshi Awgu do live adventurously and make the most of every available opportunity presented to them by the school's authority.

Yesterday, the 20th of October, 2022, the school was visited by PPSMB officials during their prep time and it was observed that all the students were reading in their respective classes.

The school's Principal, Mrs. Ify Dunu directed one of the staff to model the instructional strategies while the students participated in guided and independent practice in their respective classes through independent study activities monitored by a teacher per class.

Students in SS 2 and JSS 1 were observed to be reading novels, SS 1 students were studying their mathematics notes while JSS 3 students were interestingly, reading a magazine. The students from the remaining classes; JSS 2 and SS 3 were reading their class notebooks from different subjects.
