BE PROUD OF YOUR PROFESSION: PPSMB EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN TOLD TEACHERS FROM OBOLLO-AFOR EDUCATION ZONE


The three thousand capacity Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Conference center, at PPSMB Headquarters, Enugu was filled with teachers from Obollo-Afor Education Zone during the Capacity Building Workshop /Head Count, for public secondary schools teachers in Enugu State.

Addressing them before the commencement of the workshop,the Executive Chairman of the Board, *Dr. Favour Ugwuanyi, mni FCISM,* appreciated the teachers who made it on time to the venue. She said that teaching is a noble profession and the state government under the leadership of *Governor Ifeanyi* *Ugwuanyi* has provided an enabling environment for teachers in Public Secondary schools in the state to strive and on this, she encouraged the teachers to be proud of their profession. She reminded Teachers of their roles as the mothers and fathers to the children left under their care.
Also, the Executive Chairman of ENSUBEB, Chief Ikeje Asogwu, was also at the training to felicitate with the teachers for their efforts that led to the success of Enugu State in 2022 WAEC result.
In the same vain, the Member 1 of the board, Hon. John Ugochukwu Eneze, encouraged the teachers not to relent in the progress already made my them, but to improve in discharge of their duties.
During the training, the Resource Person, Prof. Sola Adeyanju mni, of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, in his teaching on leadership and Conflict Management Skills In Enugu State Public Schools, informed his audience on the functionality of a leader, which depends largely on his/her authority, legitimacy and credibility; Also, that a leader is someone who is in a position to harness human and material resources to achieve a common goal.
Furthermore, Mr Chukwuemeka Ezuka, who talked on on Modeling and Parental Teaching, mentioned some of the relevant changes in today's world like; adjustment in family economic structure, new family life style, unhealthy attachments to technology and increase in care of dysfunctional families.
And also, Engr. Donald Chukwuanyi, who spoke on Building the 21st century teachers, told the participants that as teachers, teaching in an environment different from where you schooled, there should be need for such a teacher to brazz-up with the modern trends in other to catch them young.
There was also a written quiz for teachers that participated in the training, with about 99.9% of the teachers from the zone in attendance.
The workshop continues today with Udi Education Zone.
