INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2022
International Women's Day(IWD) is a global day of celebration for the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women. International Women's Day is marked annually on 8th March.
IWD is also an opportunity to reflect on and further the push towards gender parity.
International Women's Day is one of the most important days of the year to celebrate women's achievements, raises awareness about women's equality, lobby for accelerated gender parity and fundraise for female focused charities.
The theme for International Women's Day 2022 is
#BREAK THE BIAS. Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead knowing that bias exists isn't enough. Action is needed to level the playing field.
Colours that symbolize International Women's Day are purple, green and white. Purple signifies justice and dignity, green symbolizes hope while white represents purity.
