OPPORTUNITIES ARE ENDLESS : DR. UDEOKOYE TO STUDENTS OF NAT. GRAM. SCH. NIKE.


The students of National Grammar school Nike Enugu had been advised to read their books in order to make good grades in their internal and external Examinations, because there must surely be opportunities for them to excel.

The advice came during the school VIRTUAL CAREER WEEK, which was organized by 1991 Old Boys set of the school.
Speaking during the event, Dr. Valentine Azubuike Udeokoye, who is the President of set, told his audience that provision of education is not for the government alone but needs the involvement of both government and non-governmental organization/ individuals.
He further informed them that many students have benefitted from this exercise since the journey started in 2018, of which many students that graduated from NGS are in Nigerian and foreign Universities studying different courses of their choice.
Dr. Udeokoye promised that the next year's 2023 career week will be well organized, whereby the resource persons to be drawn from different parts of the world will be talking to students in five different schools simultaneously via zoom meeting.
Declaring the event open, the Executive Chairman of Post Primary Schools Management Board, Enugu, Dr. Favour Ugwuanyi (mni, FCISM), ably represented by the Director in-charge of schools supervision, Dr. Ezekiel Onah commended the effort of the old boys, most especially the man behind the mask, in the person of Dr. Udeokoye and his class of 1991set, in their bid to give hope to the indigent students.
He told them that change has come in education sector, mostly in public secondary schools and the vision of PPSMB in Enugu State is to ensure that every child of secondary school age has excess to quality secondary education for intellectual and moral development with a view to being self reliance of facing challenges in this millennium century and beyond. He therefore encouraged all Stakeholders in education sector to put in their best in order to secure a better future for the students.
In his address, the Principal of the school, Mr Alaye thanked the old boys of 1991 set for all they have done to better the lives of the teachers and students in the institution. He urged the students to listen very well so as to be better equipped for the future.
The event featured career talks in different areas through ZOOM, presentation of cash gifts to the students by the old boys of the set and cultural dance displayed by the students.
