Rejoice because it is a moment of Thanksgiving*" Fr. Mgbodile.
It was a moment of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving at the board's headquarters during the Christmas party for all the best teachers selected from about 197 rural schools.
The party that took place on the 14th day of December, 2023 was specifically for middle cadre teachers who were the most committed in their various schools.
The teachers were filled with joy; for it was the first time in the history of the board for teachers in rural schools in the state to be celebrated in this manner.
Speaking during the event, the Executive Chairman of PPSMB, Rev. Fr. Hilary Mgbodile (Ph.D) reawakened their consciousness on the importance of their duty to the students in those remote schools. He re-emphasized the state government's commitment to the payment of rural allowance and assured the teachers that the government would do as much as possible to live up to this expectation.
The event was fun-packed as the National Grammar School Nike presented the song entitled; "The Teacher". Also, the PPSMB Gosife cultural group was there to entertain, while a staff at the headquarters, Mrs Joyfrancis Agbala, presented the PPSMB news followed by a short drama organized and presented by the PR Unit of the board.
Other activities were zonal and departmental dancing competitions, where the winners went home with different gift items ranging from 10kg bags of rice, gallons of Groundnut oil, tubes of yam, and live chickens.
For their Christmas gifts, each of the teachers went home with a 10kg bag of rice.
The 2023 PPSMB Christmas party has come and gone, but the memories will continue to linger in the minds of principals, teachers, and the entire staff of the board headquarters.
It has ended in praise. To God be the glory.
