The Head of Unit Monitoring, office of Due Process and SERVICOM /PIB, Enugu, Mr Boniface Ngwu gave the advice at the PPSMB Headquarters, Enugu.

Mr Ngwu who spoke on "Benefits of HardWork", informed participants in the training that as civil servants, their responsibilities include seeing that those who came to them for services went home satisfied.

He explained that some of the benefits of hard work were acknowledgement and recognition by the employer, promotions which leads to high salaries and realization of collective objectives with co-workers.

The resource person noted that hard work was not easy, advised them to brace for the challenges by preparing well for any task before them, manage their time properly and avoid procrastination.

Another resource person and Director, Investigation and Property Preservation PPSMB, Mr Joseph N. Ozioko who spoke on, "Mutual Respect and Discipline," urged them to show respect to each other, shun disrespectful behavior and live by example. Don't hurt people by what you say, even if it is true, reserve it", he told them.

Mr Ozioko remarked that in discipline was the main cause of corruption in the society and urged them to imbibe the culture of self discipline in the office and anywhere they were, saying that "in discipline leads to loss of reputation". He encouraged the workers to engage in constructive criticism, share knowledge among themselves and carry each other along. He maintained that leaders should show respect to others, live by example, recognize respectful and hard-working staff and discipline erring ones.

Speaking on the topic ", Dress Code and Environmental Cleanliness, Mrs Vera Mba, Director, General Services PPSMB, stressed the need for workers to dress well and abide by standard dress code in the civil /public service. She urged them to dress neatly and modestly, avoiding wearing dirty and or rumpled cloths to the office.

Mrs Mbah specifically advised women among participants in the training not to wear cloths that are tight, sexy or provocative, emphasizing that such dresses would cause distraction and earn them bad repution.

She stated that dressing well earned prestige and respect for the workers and promoted the image of the organization they worked for. She urged them to pay special attention to the office environment as clean environment improved the health and enhance performance of the workers.

Staff members who participated on the training including Director, SERVICOM, Mrs Rosecynthia Edeh, Mrs. JoyFrances Agbala, and Mrs Ify Dunu appreciated the Permanent Secretary, PPSMB, Dr. Favour Ugwuanyi mni for the opportunity and the resource persons for a job well done as they learnt a lot. About 130 staff members participated in the training.
