Remi Eze, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Roseline Onuorah, the Director of School Supervision and others, visited some rural secondary schools in Awgu Zone on October 16, 2024.
The goal was to assess conditions and identify areas for improvement.
The visit was marked by challenges, including assessibility due to poor road conditions.
Most remarkable was the visit to CSS Ugwueme and Eziobu Community Secondary School, Ugwueme. The chairman engaged the stakeholders of the two communities and the teachers, on strategies for improving teaching and learning in the communities . Due to their extremely low enrollment, (with one school having only six students), the Chairman announced that the board would merge the two schools; so that the teachers can form a formidable team of educators.
