PRINCIPALS ARE THE CEO OF THEIR SCHOOLS : PPSMB CHAIRMAN TO SBMC CHAIRMEN & THEIR SECRETARIES


The Executive Chairman of PPSMB Enugu, Dr. Favour Ugwuanyi mni FCISM, extolled Principals of Post Primary Schools Management Board, Chairmen and Secretaries of SBMC of all the public secondary schools in Enugu State for the peace that had existed between the Principals and SBMC Chairmen in the past years.

The Executive Chairman of PPSMB Enugu, Dr. Favour Ugwuanyi mni FCISM, extolled Principals of Post Primary Schools Management Board, Chairmen and Secretaries of SBMC of all the public secondary schools in Enugu State for the peace that had existed between the Principals and SBMC Chairmen in the past years.

She made this remark during a meeting with Principals, SBMC Chairmen and Secretaries at the Board's Headquarters Enugu.
Dr Ugwuanyi told her audience that Principals are the Chief Executives Officer in their respective schools and advised that SBMC Chairmen should help /encourage the Principals' and not to detect to them on how to run the Day-to-Day activities of the school. According to her, "be the whistle blower and report to the board when things are not done in the right way".
The Executive Chairman of PPSMB, also spoke on tenure alongation of some SBMC Chairmen, in which she said that some of them had over stayed their service and need to step down for others to take - over the leadership of SBMC in some schools.

Also in his speech, the Member 1 of the Board, Hon. John Ugochukwu Eneze told the Principals and teachers to rise up to their responsibilities. He said that teachers has a huge role to play in the life of every student entrusted in their care. He spoke mainly on Security of lives and school properties.

The Permanent Secretary,Engr. Remi Eze, in the same vain spoke on the importance of getting approval from the board before the use of School premises for any social events, like collection of SBMC, engagement with NGOs etc. He emphasized on the need for someone to be held accountable if any thing should go wrong.

Others who spoke during the meeting were Director of Schools Supervision, Dr. Ezekiel Onah, who discussed the meaning of SBMC, and the relationship between the work of SBMC Chairmen and Principals of Schools.
While Director of finance & Accounts, Mr. Bona Odenigbo dwelt on the use of parent support levy and early remittances of fees.
