SHUN EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE : PPSMB EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN.
The Executive Chairman of Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB) Dr. Favour Ugwuanyi mni, has advised staff of the headquarters during the ongoing monitoring of SSCE and BECE examinations across the state, to shun any form of exam malpractices in order not to jeopardize the future of the students who are the leaders of tomorrow.
Dr. Ugwuanyi gave the advice when her four monitoring groups for the SSCE and BECE examinations were about to depart her office at about 7:am for today's exercise, which were SSCE (Mathematics) and BECE (Basic & Science) examinations.
She equally made it clear to the monitoring team to ensure that Principals enforce exam rules on their students so as to do better.
As the Teams set out for this assignment, the leader of team A, Engr. Edith Eze and her members visited the following schools; New Heaven Sec. Sch. Enugu, CHS Emene, St. Patrick College Emene, St. Joseph College Emene, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Sec. Sch Ugwuomu-Nike, CHS Umuchigbo, ASS Nkwo Nike, CSS Ugwuogo - Nike, GSS Abakpa-Nike TEGSS and NGS in Enugu metropolis and it's environs.
While team B led by Engr. Ndum Chukwuemeka visited CSS Eha-Amufu , Union Sec. Sch. Eha-Amufu, CSS Eha-Ohuala, CSS Isu Eha-Amufu and CSS Ikem-Nkwo, in Isi - Uzo local Government Area.
Then, Team C led by Mrs Vera Mbah visited the following schools in Nsukka; Education Zone,, Css Ede-Edoballa, MSS Nsukka,GSS Ede-Enu Edoballa, CSS Nru, UBSS Nsukka, GSS Ibagwa-Aka, BSS Ibagwa-Aka, UGSS Nsukka and CSS Obukpa.
And finally, Mrs Joyfrancis Agbala, leader of group D, visited Urban Girl's Sec. Sch., Comm. Sec. Sch. Iva valley, Queens School Enugu, Girls High Sch. Uwani, Idaw River Girls, Boys Sec. School, Metropolitan Girls Sec. School, City Girls Sec. School, Newlayout Sec. School, Coal Camp Sec. School, Army Day Sec. school. ,Govt. Sec.Sch.GRA and Day Sec. School Indep. layout; All in Enugu urban.
General observation by all the team in all the schools visited indicated that the conduct of the examination was peaceful.
Some of the Principals and teachers who were on ground when the team arrived in their various schools were very happy and commended the monitoring team. Some abnormalities were also recorded in some schools and immediately handled by the team.
The monitoring team advised the school authorities to shun exam malpractices and embrace the reading culture in every examination so that students will be confident in themselves.
The teams also used the opportunity to check teacher's attendance to school and classes.
