THE RETURN OF MERIT IN CIVIL SERVICE: "COMPETENCE WOULD BE REWARDED" - FR. MGBODILE TO PPSMB TEACHERS


The nomination of 30 science teachers with relative knowledge of computers from PPSMB Enugu, to participate in a six-month training for fellowship program aimed at equipping Educators with the necessary tools for teaching science subjects was conducted at PPSMB Headquarters (The Parliament Hall), on Monday, 7th of August 2023.

 
The nomination of 30 science teachers with relative knowledge of computers from PPSMB Enugu, to participate in a six-month training for fellowship program aimed at equipping Educators with the necessary tools for teaching science subjects was conducted at PPSMB Headquarters (The Parliament Hall), on Monday, 7th of August 2023.
 
During the nomination excise, the Executive Chairman of PPSMB, Fr. Hilary Mgbodile (Ph.D.) conducted an assessment test for all the science teachers that came from the six education zones, but before the exercise, the Principals from over 298 public secondary schools in Enugu State were directed to send two representatives from their various schools for the examination.
 
However, before the commencement of the exercise, the chairman reiterated the determination of the state government to migrate the state civil service from manual means of operation to E-Governance, and the only possible means to achieve this is through training of the workforce on digital transformation, which the state wants to achieve in six- months period in Science, Technology, and Mathematics (STEM) teachers fellowship.
 
Over 130 teachers participated in the exercise, but those who scored between 32 - 50 were selected. A physics teacher from Girl's Secondary School Owerre - Eze Orba, Mr. Ogbu Isaiah scored 50/50 percent in the exercise.
 
The following Staff were present to help in coordinating the exam, they include; the Permanent Secretary of the Board, Engr. Remi Eze, the Director of Science &Technology, Mrs. Chinedu Eze, the Director of Schools Supervision, Mrs. Chinyere Obinna Agbo, and the HOB Central & Secret Registry, Mrs.Joyfrancis Agballa. Others were the HOB Computer Hub, Mrs. Confidence Odoh, the Sevicom Unit, Mrs. Ifeoma Uzo, and a staff of the PR Unit, Mrs. Chidimma Anyima.
