The Executive Chairman of PPSMB, Enugu, *Fr. Hilary Mgbodile* appealed to CSPs and Principals of Enugu State Post Primary Schools Management Board, to partner with the new board on the upcoming changes that will take place in the school system.

 

Fr. Mgbodile made the passionate appeals during his first meeting with the CSPs and Principals at the board headquarters, Enugu, after his appointment some weeks ago.

 

In his welcome address to the Principals, Fr. Mgbodile informed them that in order to effectively combat some challenges in the system; especially: Lack of quality teachers, unhealthy work ethics, institutionalized culture of malpractices and greed, that certain revolutionary steps must be taken. He maintained that if the glories of public secondary schools must be restored, then willing burden bearers must be available and obsolete principles must be abandoned.

 

The executive chairman reaffirmed his willingness to sacrifice his time and earnings. He also disclosed that directors, supervisors and supervising principals have all accepted to put a stop to the collection of tips or envelopes during supervision, stressing that it has become a crime for any principal to give money to a supervisor(s).

 

He revealed that the government has graciously approved a token as *Rural Allowance* for members of the staff working in very remote areas.

In response, Principals from various schools thanked the Executive Chairman and also made meaningful suggestions on the way forward and promised to partner with the new board in their bid for a new PPSMB.

 

The Board Members: Venerable Barr. Jude Ogah, Very Rev. Nwafor Uchenna Israel and Engr. Remi Eze, together with the Directors and Heads of various departments who were present during the meeting, collaborated the Chairman's position and vision.
