WOMEN ACTS COLLECTIVE ( WACOL)


COMMEMORATE THEIR 25TH YEARS ANNIVERSARY WITH SCHOOL DEBATE TO MARK THEIR ANNIVERSARY AND 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM

The Women Acts Collective ( WACOL) Enugu Branch on Wednesday 7/12/22 commemorate their 25th years anniversary with school debate at PPSMB Headquarters Enugu.
The Head of Program & Administrator of WACOL Organization Enugu Branch, Mrs Nkechi Igwe used the occasion to stress the issue of Gender Base Violence in the society.
Mrs Igwe maintained that school debate was part of the programs mapped out to mark the 25 years anniversary and sixteen (16) Days of Activism that are being celebrated world wide. She encouraged people to be very consious when taking any action and consequences of their actions, especially when domestic violence occurs,which may affect parents or children in the process.
Moreover, she advised young ones that goes into early marriages to be very careful of their actions.
During the event, students from various public secondary Schools in Enugu State held a debate on the topic:" DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, WHO SUFFERS MOST??
THE CHILDREN OR PARENTS"
The Students from New Heaven Secondary School came first with the total of 82 points.
Commending the students, the Director of Education services PPSMB Headquarters, Dr. Ify Nwankwo commend the Students for their wonderful performances during the debate and encouraged them to always study hard.
